Date:Wednesday May 8, 7:00 PM at South St. Paul High School Lecture Hall, 700 Second St. N., South St. Paul MN 55075 Speaker: The meeting topic will be Plant Propagation for the Home Gardener featuring Dr. David Zlesak. Dr. Zlesak will speak on Propagating new plants for personal use or to share is exciting and satisfying. Propagation topics will include starting plants from seed, cuttings, division and grafting. Special emphasis will be placed on ways to adapt propagation techniques to resources commonly available to the home gardener. There will be demonstrations and hands-on activities.
Additional Information: Dr. David Zlesak is a Professor of Horticulture at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the 2017 Distinguished Teacher. He has been breeding plants for over 30 years and saves and starts several thousand new seedlings of his favorite plant species each spring. Plant Propagation and Plant Tissue Culture are among the courses he teaches.
